Welcome to the 6th annual Rolf Prima Tri at the Grove on July 23, 2016 in Cottage Grove, Oregon.

On site registration available
Friday- packet pickup at Rolf Prima in Eugene
Saturday- on site at Lakeside park

This is a USA Triathlon Sanctioned event and a Triathlete Magazine pick as one of the top 22 triathlons in the USA in 2013.

Set at scenic Cottage Grove lake, the Rolf Prima Tri at the Grove offers both Sprint and Olympic courses, a beautiful lake setting, an amazing low-traffic ride in scenic rural Oregon, and a smooth run through towering evergreens. Camp lakeside or select a nearby hotel.

PACKET PICK UP:

Relay Teams: As a relay team member finishes a leg, he/she tags the next team member in the transition zone. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR RELAY TEAMS: Each relay team member
must personally present their own photo ID at packet pick up to obtain their respective portion of the chip packet contents as well as their swag bags.

Identification on Race Day:
Please remember to bring your photo identification to packet pick up. USAT rules clearly state, "NO ID, NO RACE."

USAT wet suit policy

Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wet suit without
penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water
temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater
than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants
may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for
prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water
temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit. The wetsuit policy
for elite athletes shall be determined by the USAT Athletes Advisory Council. Effective January 1, 2013, any swimmer wearing a wetsuit with a thickness measured in any part greater than 5 millimeters shall be disqualified.

USA Triathlon Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.

Roll over policy:

We understand that life happens. If something comes up and you can't make it to the race, we will roll your registration fee to the next year, or toward another Best in the West Event. Roll overs are based on the following schedule:

28 days (or more) from race day - 97% of registration fee

21-27 days from race day - 75% of registration fee

14-20 days from race day - 50% of registration fee

7-14 days from race day - 25% of registration fee

0-6 days - No roll over.

Requests for registration roll over or transfer to another race must be made via email: contact@bestinthewestevents.com

A USA Triathlon (USAT) membership is required. You will be able to purchase a one day or one year membership during registration

Course

Sprint Course: 750m swim | 12 mile bike | 5k run Olympic Course: 1,500m swim | 25 mile bike | 10k run.

Athletes will begin the USAT-sanctioned Sprint and Olympic-distance courses with a swim in Cottage Grove Lake that begins and finishes at the Lakeside Park boat ramp. The bike course takes participants through the scenic rural London area of Lane County and returns to Lakeside Park along the north side of Cottage Grove Lake. The race ends with a 5k or 10k run course on a closed, private road along the south side of the lake with the finish back at Lakeside Park.

Weather

WATER TEMPERATURE In a normal year, the surface water temperature (top 12-18 inches) should be in the 72-75F range at Cottage Grove Lake. We will announce the water temperature on our facebook page as the race nears, and on race day.

Directions

Please note: THERE IS NO EVENT PARKING AT THE LAKESIDE PARK BOAT RAMP AREA.

Event parking is very close to the boat ramp area, but access to the parking area is located off of Reservoir Road to the north of Lakeside Park. Watch for signs and volunteers directing you to the parking area entrance/exit road.

Directions to Lakeside Park from I-5:

- From north (Eugene):

Take I-5 South to exit 172 (S. 6th St./Cottage Grove Lake) Left on S. 6th St. Continue on London Road for approx. 4+ miles. Watch for signs. Turn left onto Cottage Grove Reservoir Road (follow signs and volunteer instructions). Turn right at entrance to parking lot (volunteer will direct you).

- From south (Roseburg):

Take I-5 north to exit 170 to merge onto OR-99 N/Hwy 99 N toward Cottage Grove (2.8 mi). Turn right onto Latham Rd. Turn right onto London Rd. Continue on London Road for approx. 4+ miles. Watch for signs. Turn left onto Cottage Grove Reservoir Road (follow signs and volunteer instructions). Turn right at entrance to parking lot (volunteer will direct you).

Prizes

Awards will be presented after the completion of the Sprint distance race and
after the completion of the Olympic distance race. The post-race raffle will take place at the completion of the Olympic distance race
awards. You must be present to win.
