Portland's premier downtown triathlon & duathlon.

The 9th annual City of Portland Triathlon takes place on September 20th, 2015. Set in Cathedral Park, under the iconic St. Johns Bridge in North Portland, this course is accessible, scenic, and fast. Racers enjoy the thrill of a downtown swim start, a multi-loop bike course, and a run route that traces beautiful segments from the Portland Marathon.

This race is limited to 1000 Participants.

We will have an elite wave, to register, 1st sign up for the race, then email hilary@portlantri.com that you would like to race as an elite. Remeber, you can't win your Age group if you race Elite.

We don't feel that "convenience charges" are in any way convenient. At Athletepath, the price you see is the price you pay.

A USA Triathlon (USAT) membership is required. You will be able to purchase a one day or one year membership during registration

Course

Swim: The swim is an out and back course in the Willamette River, beginning by the boat ramp in scenic Cathedral Park, below the St. Johns Bridge. Swimmers will be swimming up stream first, in an extended rectangle with the park on their right on the return.

Bike: The bike course climbs out of Cathedral Park and heads north towards Kelly Point. Olympic racers will complete two loops of the bike course, with the sprint competitors completing one loop. Participants should expect a fast ride over great pavement.

Run: The run course follows portions of the historic Portland marathon course. All runners will run an out and back over St. Johns Bridge. The race finishes back in Cathedral Park, where you and your family will find excellent food and Deschutes beer to complete a beautiful day.

Weather

Typically we have weather in the 60s to 70s, some years there is rain and some its' sunny. We do live in the great Pacific Northwest!
