Portland Triathlon Coached Training Plan

Portland Triathlon and Zing3 Coaching present a 10-week Triathlon Training program.
This program starts on July 16th, and is designed to prepare you for the Portland Triathlon on September 23, 2012.
We provide the training program which includes 6 workouts a week. There will also be three clinics covering topics from the Basics, Nutrition, Transitions, and one of the clinics will be an open water swim. Also included in the price is entry to the triathlon training race at Hagg Lake on the 8th of August.
The programs are geared towards the very beginner to the 2nd year intermediate that wants to increase their knowledge and ability over either race distance:
Olympic Distance – 1.5K swim (1640 yds.), 40K Bike (24.8 mile), 10K Run (6.2 miles)
Sprint Distance - 750m swim (820 yards, 20K Bike (12.4 mile), 5K Run (3.2 miles)
What is needed?
1) A pool to workout in
2) A bike
3) About 6 – 8 hours per week to train
There are 3 programs to choose from:
1) Beginner – Working towards completing the Sprint Triathlon at the Portland Triathlon on September 23rd, 2012 – we would assume that you can run 3 miles, Some swimming experience, ability to bike 10 miles.
2) Novice – Working towards completing the Olympic Triathlon at the Portland Triathlon on September 23rd, 2012 – swim 1000 yards with out difficulty, run 6 miles and bike for at least 90 minutes.
3) Intermediate – Working towards completing the Olympic Triathlon at the Portland Triathlon on September 23rd, 2012 – swim 1000 yards with out difficulty, run 6 miles and bike at least 90 minutes
