Nordica Enforcer 100 Ski Review

The 2021/22 Nordica Enforcer 100s are the newest redesign of one of the most loved all-mountain skis of the past decade. Nordica’s Enforcer line has always been renowned for great performance on the groomers, excellent stability and speed and uncompromised maneuverability.

In this review we’ll break down the design, specs and performance rating in various categories – everything you need to know about the Nordica Enforcer 100 all-mountain skis!

What makes them stand out?

The thickness and rocker of the skis vary depending of the length of the ski – a level of design specificity that is uncommon in skis. The skis are designed to perform optimally for each individual skier which requires more changes than just the length in order to accommodate accordingly. They provide a great skill balance and truly fulfill the expectation of an all-mountain ski.

Even in the highly versatile all-mountain category, each ski has its strengths and weaknesses, so it is essential to do your homework and find out if a particular ski will serve your skiing style and ability well. The Enforcer 100s definitely cater to more experienced skiers and reward an aggressive skiing style – if you are learning how to ski then you’ll need to start off with a more forgiving pair of boards. True to their claim of versatility, the Enforcer 100s can be paired well with mid to stiff flex boots and a wide variety of bindings so be sure to check out the best ski bindings and best ski boots too.

Nordica Enforcer 100 Design & Notable Tech

Like the Enforcer 88 and Enforcer 104s, the revamped Enforcer 100s also feature Nordica’s True Tip technology with an extended wood core. The extended core helps reduce swing weight and lets the Enforcer 100s ride with more playfulness and float than previous models, although these skis still perform best in firmer snow conditions.

It is worth noting that these skis are some of the heaviest in the all-mountain category weighing in at 2.4kg per pair in the 186cm length. The weight helps them power through crud and adverse snow conditions; however, they are far from lightweight and the extra grams detract from their ease of maneuverability and playful feeling.

Expect an ideal combination of camber underfoot with rockered tips and tails that make the Nordica Enforcer 100s excellent at generating speed and contribute to a really fun power to nimbleness balance. They feel great at high speeds without losing the nimble, precise reaction required for off-piste runs through the trees.

Nordica Enforcer 100 Performance Ratings

The key areas of performance have been rated from 1 to 10 to help give you a clear picture of what to expect from these skis. 10 is as good as it gets and anything above 7 is considered an above-average performance in the given category.

Construction: Durability and Quality (9)

Nordica has been delivering top-quality ski equipment for decades; their Enforcer line is particularly well-known not only for being versatile all-mountain skis, but for delivering quality you can count on as well. The 2021 Enforcer 100s are definitely cut from the same cloth from one of the best ski brands.

Stability & Control (9)

Despite the lighter tips, the new Enforcer 100s feel awesome on the groomers with great edge hold and smooth powerful cornering. They are springy enough to generate speed. Turn initiation feels really natural and the skis respond effortlessly underfoot.

Turning Power & Radius (9)

The ratio between the width and shape of a ski is described as the ski’s radius and determines the type of turns a ski is designed for. With a relatively wide radius of 18.4m the Enforcer 100s are ideal for long wide carves well. Not to worry, they are still maneuverable enough to handle quick narrow turns with ease and can be expected to perform the full range of turns well.

Hard-Pack (9)

These skis perform great in hard-packed conditions, retaining excellent control at high speeds. Even in icy conditions, the chatter was nearly negligible which is impressive considering the lighter, rockered tips. The Enforcer 100s offer a really fast, fun, stable ride.

Powder & Playfulness (7.5)

These skis offer a good balance between float and hard-pack stability, with the performance leaning towards groomed and packed conditions. The lighter tips do float well in softer snow conditions, and while they are more playful than previous Enforcer 100 models, they are still not on par with a true freeride ski (which is ok, because they are all-mountain skis after all!). Their biggest deficit is definitely playfulness: they CAN do it all but perform best when skied relatively aggressively and with clean ski technique.

Bumps and Varying Terrain (9.5)

Once again, the Enforcer 100s perform very well considering their 100mm waist. They are snappy, maneuverable and respond quickly. They do require a more aggressive skiing style, but if you are an expert skier you can hit the trees or the moguls with confidence. They are especially great in crud where they are powerful enough to hold their line but soft enough to absorb some of the bumps.
